Paul (aerospace systems engineering, Mercer U., Georgia) has substantially updated this text, reorganizing its presentation by expanding from 8 to 13 chapters and adding sections to reflect developments in the field, including those on new methods for achieving signal integrity in high-speed digital interconnects, finite-difference time-domain solutions, and time-domain to frequency-domain transformation methods. The chapters on digital signal propagation and signal integrity application have been expanded. Two appendices contain descriptions of the relevant software, including a tutorial of SPICE and PSPICE. The text is designed to serve in advanced undergraduate or graduate level courses in electrical engineering, as well as a resource for professionals.
