Produced by an interdisciplinary team of academics associated with the U. of Chicago, Princeton U., and the U. of Illinois, this collection of interconnected essays introduces and analyzes the visual art of Viktor Koretsky (1909-1998), a "master of Soviet propaganda imagery" during the late Soviet era. The volume is a companion to the eponymous exhibition at the U. of Chicago's Smart Museum of Art and therefore also considers art, film, and music from that exhibition that was not produced by Koretsky.
