Bullock (architectural history, Cambridge U.) and Verpoest (U. of Leuven) present papers from a 2004 symposium (12 in English, 11 in French), written by contributors in history, preservation, and museum studies. Situated at the intersection of architectural history, urban history, and preservation history, the contributors describe the state of wartime and post-war preservation historiography, paying special attention to the roles of conservationists, heritage institutions, architects, and planners.
