This text examines social theory's contribution to our understanding of gendered work inequalities. Huppatz examines how both classical social theories and later developments following the 'cultural turn' relate to gender and work, before focusing on how these theories apply to several key areas of work: gender within organisations; female unpaid domestic labour; and paid and unpaid care work.
